Seeing Marketing Lessons In Everyday Life

My favorite blog posts -- whether I'm reading or writing -- are those that take everyday examples and use them to teach marketing or public relations lessons.

That may be because I love to tell stories. Or it could be because I believe people learn best when a lesson is wrapped in a real-life experience.

Either way, it's a technique that I admire in bloggers ... one that keeps me coming back to their sites again and again.

Here's one from Kathy Sierra that I found fascinating. She's visiting the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, and she uses the culture of bluegrass musicians -- one of inclusion, teaching and allowing listeners to truly experience the music -- as a lesson for creating passionate fans/customers.
