Houston PR, Advertising People: Want To Help Katrina Victims Locally?
Communities In Schools Houston is mobilizing to help Louisiana schoolchildren who have been evacuated to Houston following Hurricane Katrina.
First, the CIS mobile medical unit will be traveling throughout the city providing free tetanus and Hepatitis A and B immunizations to both the children and their parents. The unit costs $1,700 a day to operate and funds are needed to support the effort.
Second, CIS is providing physical needs such as clothing, school supplies, and food; the organization's incredible field staff will also work to help meet the emotional needs of these youngsters who have truly lost everything and do not know when, or if, they will ever return home.
I challenge all PR, marketing and advertising people in Houston to help support this effort. If you haven't given yet to the Red Cross or other organizations, consider making a donation to CIS to help fund these worthwhile activities.
It's easy to do so. Just call 713-654-1515 and tell them you'd like to support the Hurricane Katrina Relief Effort. They'll give you all the details. Or, you can click here to donate online.
