For Your Approval ... a new internal communications blog debuts
Shel Holtz and Steve Crescenzo recommend him, and that's good enough for me.
The "him" I'm referring to is Ron Shewchuk, who has a brand new blog called For Your Approval.
Ron plans to focus on internal communications, and if his first couple of posts are any indication, For Your Approval will be a joy to read. This paragraph, on the pitfalls of intranets, is a perfect example:
"Some intranets do achieve a certain degree of humanity, but mostly it's just a lot of chilly data being shoveled at employees who are snowed under with information, but starved for the warm glow of real meaning."
There's little doubt that internal communications still gets the short shift in the blogging world. Perhaps that's because in too many companies, it's considered less important than its sexier cousins.
But I would argue that an informed, engaged and aligned employee group is MORE important to the long-term health of any organization than newspaper clippings, TV ads or analyst recommendations.
Ron's blog is a welcome addition to the PR blogosphere. Check it out.
